Today, while reviewing my long-dormant basement archive of old black & white negatives, I came upon portraits of Judy Dater. Judy made her mark in the world of photography with her photos and collaborations with legendary photographer Imogen Cunningham, and her large-format portraits of nudes, women and men. I was trying to come to grips with my view camera photography at the time — and it was when Judy exposed me to the wonderfulness of 4×5 Polaroid — but I took this soft-focus, grainy, compressed tonal portrait with my 35mm camera.
UPDATE 9/15/2019: And here’s a recently re-discovered version I originally made back in 1973 with some out-of-date 4×5 (Type 55?) Polaroid film.
