The other day I told Nancy about some of the very special, secret hiding places Bill used to have to stash his cash around the studio, like in books and 4×5 film holders. Then I told her that I was just reminded, in the course of my recent and ongoing rereading of Bill’s old letters, that Bill told me in a letter from Oman that he was thinking of opening a bank account in Monaco. Then a couple of days latter, the astonished Nancy sends me this image of a checkbook that she had just found in his effects — for a Monaco bank account in 1987, but now empty and defunct!
