Photographed near my Los Angeles home in 1974. Mostly it was used for desert trips. Death Valley (California) and the Badlands (South Dakota) were my favorite destinations, but I ended up in all sorts of places. Once I exchanged a broken axle lying on my back in subfreezing Iowa weather.
