August Three

Today it occurred to me to look at my L/R catalog to recall what photographs I happened to have made on the day of Bill’s passing on August 3, a few weeks ago and several days before I learned.  I found four images, including this one taken while I was browsing books from my bedside art and photo library.  It shows the famed image taken by W. Eugene Smith in 1951 of a wake in a Spanish village (published originally in LIFE Magazine).  Smith, as noted here in Bill’s Bio, was one of Bill’s photographic heroes.

These are the other three images that I made and/or worked that day:

Finally, as previously noted, on August 3, I rediscovered and posted to this blog a 1976 photograph of Bill in Death Valley.
