Found: The Infamous Accidental Buckminster Fuller Photographs (1978)

Today’s unexpected find among the other detritus of my studio were these images, thought to be nonexistent for forty-five years.  They were made when I was invited to meet and photograph Buckminster Fuller, who was participating in a peace & love international cooperation conference in Santa Monica in 1978, along with other luminaries (e.g., William Irwin Thompson?).  My old friend, Patricia, was an assistant to Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (the Swiss psychiatrist of stages-of-grief fame) at the time, and secured a last-minute press pass for me for this purpose.  Alas, while I secured a podium-proximate position, my camera malfunctioned, inadvertently making a couple of multiple exposures, then jamming.  Here are the results:
