Mr. F. Appears in Print (1978)

A recent rediscovery of a 1978 literary & art journal in which my photograph of the young Mr. Friedman — long before he became an internationally-acclaimed photographer, editor and educator — was published as the lead image in a multi-page spread of my work.

Experimenting on Myself

This circa 1942 Iowa farm image of myself with dog (my cousin Anita and my aunt appear in the background) was colorized by Replicate AI.  Photographer of original was presumably my mother.

Another Replicate AI experiment in colorization.   Circa  1941,  with my  great-grandfather  GW,  grandmother  Maude  and  my  infant  self.

Roses Are Red

A couple of days ago, Kim was visiting the rose garden at nearby Pioneer Park.  She happened to be right at hand when a rose branch was accidentally lopped off during maintenance so the park personnel asked her if she wanted to take it home.  And here it is, still semi-fresh, with over 30 blossoms.  A nice treat, considering that the local retail price runs about $60 – $80 per dozen.  And see if you can find Kim in this iPad photograph.

All That Remains (1967)

Circa 1971 photograph of mixed media artwork I made of my late friend P.T. in 1967.  Marking pen, acrylic paint, Polaroid and xerography collage on poster board, original approximately 48″ x 36″. Original piece no longer extant.
