Rummaging through ancient archives and resurrecting a few nearly forgotten images again. Here is an old friend I met when we were both studying photojournalism at Cal State Long Beach in the early 70s. And he was the key to meeting my lifelong friend and photo-collaborator, Bill. Ken worked for a time as a darkroom assistant to Edmund Teske. Haven’t seen or heard from him for at least forty years, but will try to track him down.
Found this old, scarred print today, but could not locate its negative, so I scanned it. (Recalls for me W. Eugene Smith’s Spanish Village wake scene. But I must add that I recently reconnected with Michael, after about twenty years, and it seems that he is alive and well, and seemingly as frisky as ever!)
Bumped into this low-res version (where is my original?) I made of daughter Ivi and friend Marina dancing at Max Square in 2011. Seeing it again immediately reminded me of legendary Robert Doisneau’s 1950 photograph, below:
